Inspiration: Country Winter Wonderland

With the first fall of snow in Orange for the season I've been inspired to create a 'Winter Wonderland' board.

Winter is such a pretty season and very romantic. Many brides shy away from the idea because of the impracticalities, where as others embrace it with gusto. I absolutely adore a winter wedding. The landscape is breathtaking with snow on the trees, icicles on the eaves, and glimmering silver light. A bride can look so beautiful wrapped in fur and dainty gloves snuggled up to her groom.

A winter wonderland wedding asks for a certain dramatic flair in its decor and ambiance. The lighting should be low, adding gentle warmth as if offering a beacon in the cold night. Fairy lights can incite fantasy and romance. An open fireplace is always a blessing, especially if lounges are available for guests to curl up on. Touches of sparkle can be added to your centrepieces or the room decor.

I have gone for a classic white palette for this board. However, you are by no means limited to just white. Winter is an opportunity to inject some lovely deep colours such as ruby red or emerald green into your palette. Don't be shy! Have fun with it!
