Real Wedding: Anna & Mark

The floods were big this year & it made for a very interesting start to the wedding season...

Anna & Mark's wedding was set for early September in Canowindra. As the Belubula River rose higher and higher the week before their wedding, plan B went into action for their ceremony & reception locations.

Plan B involved hosting the ceremony at the local church, followed by the reception at Canowindra Showground. Both venues were high & dry away from the surging river!

It was a wet week, and it was all systems go with suppliers having trouble getting into Canowindra because of closed roads - but Anna & Mark were amazingly cool, calm and collected under the pressure and I didn't see the smile leave Anna's face all day.

We went into overdrive to create a beautiful cocktail setting & a day to remember for Anna & Mark. Working with a soft pink & burgundy palette with pops of gold, we played with seasonal blooms and mixed seating options. The farm where they were supposed to be married had spectacular trees in blossom, so we brought the blossoms in, and used lots of warm festoon light to create a cosy setting.

Plus we had loads of fun creating a kick ass bouquet for Anna - we figured she deserved it after all the stress!

Cheers to Anna & Mark for being absolute troopers in the face of mother nature & all the challenges she threw their way xo
