Trend Alert: Ombre Obsession

Ombre is a french word, which means having colors or tones that shade into each other. This is not to be confused with the American male slang term ‘ombre’ which you may have heard someone call his male friends. Everyone has been going a little nuts over ombre lately. However I remember way back, when Gwen Stefani rocked the ombre in her wedding gown in 2002.

I really love this witty take on a  monochromatic colour scheme. The ombre trend of late can be found moving into the wedding world via dresses, table runners, cakes and even hair. I love this photo of the Maggie Austin cake in purple hues. Enjoy!
